90-816 Introduction to Migration Policy
6 units, Carnegie Mellon University
Migration policy debates have become quite contentious in recent years with both sides of various arguments citing economic evidence in support of their positions. In this environment it is essential that policy makers are able to evaluate the quality of economic evidence when drawing conclusions about appropriate policy responses. This course thus has two complementary objectives. First it will provide an overview of current international migration policies and related policy debates. Second we will discuss the economic evidence on the impacts of international migration and students will gain experience evaluating the quality of economic evidence informing various migration policy debates. Although the examples covered in this course will focus on migration policy the conceptual approaches to policy evaluation will be applicable in other substantive areas as well.a hrefhttpwww.heinz.cmu.eduacademicresourcescourseresultscoursedetailsindex.aspxcid444...Read Morea
