57-609 Music History for Graduate Students II
6 units, Carnegie Mellon University
Music History for Graduate Students II surveys the period from 1750 to the present, highlighting major musical, historical, and cultural characteristics along with representative examples of composers and repertoire. Courses in the remedial Music History sequence prepare students with insufficient scores on the History Proficiency Tests for graduatelevel musicology courses and the Graduate Comprehensive Project. They do not count towards the requirements of the graduate degree. A grade of at least a B in this course is needed to fulfill the requirements of the History Proficiency Test.
