54-585 Senior Project: Dramaturgy
1–15 units, Carnegie Mellon University
Students in this course will develop a project that is commensurate in time and scope with a production dramaturgy assignment, but that helps to serve the student's dramaturgy-adjacent artistic development and/or career goals. Projects must be proposed in consultation with a faculty advisory, and should draw on and further develop skills and knowledge acquired during the course of study. Learning goals, project scope, and assessment criteria will be outlined in advance by the student and faculty member. This can be a one or two semester project; if a two semester project, its scope should encompass 9 units in the first semester, and 12 units in the second semester; if a one-semester project, it should be a 12 unit project. This course is intended as an alternative to a production dramaturgy assignment for students in the program who wish to explore other options in the senior year.
