49-784 AI-Native Product Management with LLMs and Agents
6 units, Carnegie Mellon University
This course equips students with the product strategy, technical fluency, and responsible innovation to design and manage AI-native products built on large language models (LLMs) and agents. Students will learn how to align technical capabilities with business outcomes by translating cutting-edge AI architectures into impactful, scalable product solutions. Through industry collaboration, hands-on prototyping, and real-world case studies, students will gain end-to-end experience in defining AI product requirements, designing human-in-the-loop systems, prompt engineering, RAG pipelines, and integrating generative and agentic intelligence into software ecosystems while learning to evaluate and govern AI products responsibly. The course is ideal for product managers, engineers, designers and entrepreneurs who seek to lead AI-driven initiatives, strengthen cross-functional collaboration, and bring LLM-enabled products from concept to product.
