49-747 Mindset Intensive
12 units, Carnegie Mellon University
The exploratory nature of the Mindset Intensive course encourages MIIAS students to apply learnings from their Carnegie Mellon University classes, experiences, internships, and backgrounds to research, create, and communicate about an innovation-related topic of interest. Students will use critical thinking, mapping, and making throughout the semester as they follow a self-defined process and plan to build a case for their work. Students who are the most successful in this class make continual progress inside and outside of class time. Students may work alone or in pairs and must choose one of the sections listed below as their area of concentration. While there may be overlaps between sections, e.g., an experience driven innovation through technology, the content and learning in the section is guided through the lens of experience, systems thinking, or technology. All sections may require a final showcase presentation and article about the work. Section A: Systems Thinking Driven Innovation Section B: Experience Driven Innovation Section C: Technology Driven Innovation
