24-602 Maker Series: Prototyping for Equity
5–6 units, Carnegie Mellon University
This course applies prototyping techniques to develop products for underserved populations of people. In order to fabricate components for prototypes, this course teaches the safe operation of fabrication tools, including 3D printer, laser cutterengraver machine, and power tools. A significant portion of the course is dedicated to applying the engineering design cycle to meet the unique needswants of a specific user population. This handson course culminates in building a prototype that can be tested to validate its performance as the physical solution to a realworld problem. 56unit mini 7weeks
