14-843 Spec Topics:Intro to Privacy Engineering:from Policy to Code to Quality to Value
12 units, Carnegie Mellon University
This unique survey course will start with the basic laws, requirements and cultural underpinnings that comprise global data privacy policies. We will then convert these policies to functional specifications and requirements and discuss how the 'language of legal' can be converted to provide concrete guidance for systems development using classic engineering techniques. Finally we will examine how these systems fit into an overall governance program in organizations as small as a garage start up and as complex as a government or global company setting, with business cases and value models.
