06-324 Computational Optimization and Machine Learning for Chemical Engineering
12 units, Carnegie Mellon University
This course will focus on the development and use of numerical methods and machine learning approaches for chemical engineering. This includes solution of nonlinear equations, differential equations, and constrained optimization problems. The course will also address regression for data science and machine learning. Students will learn how to apply modern machine learning approaches (e.g., neural networks) in the context of engineering problems.
Prerequisites: 06-262 and (15-110 or 15-112)
Offered: Fall 2026
