In this combined lecture and lab course we will develop our toolkit of molecular biology bench skills and general research skills. You will complete experimental work to isolate plasmids, characterize DNA, express unknown fluorescent proteins in bacteria, purify those proteins, and finally identify the unknowns. This course will be a colorful opportunity to practice lab skills before taking required lab classes or starting research.
